Description

The museum building at Sandvigske samlinger/Maihaugen was designed by Sverre Fehn and Geir Grung, and finished in 1958. Maihaugen is one of the main museums in Norway, notably by a large collection of historic buildings in the open air part of the museum. The building design by Fehn and Grung contains the enterance, indoor exhibitions and services. Critics have pointed out that the finished buildings were notably different from the competition drawings, and lost some of the qualities of the original proposal. During the years the building have alse had several additions and modifications.
